Product:

As a part of this project we successfully installed a cable track system covering a 31-meter travel, The first of its kind in the UK. This innovative and robust technology offers significant benefits to our customers. The purpose of our cable track system is to increase the lifespan of cables and cable chain, specifically in harsher industries, making the cable track system an extremely reliable and cost efficient product. Reason for installation:

Upgrading catenary systems to cable track systems for increased safety and efficiency.

In the past, the steel works site had installed catenary systems onto their cranes. Despite their simplicity, these systems require frequent maintenance to uphold safety and efficiency standards. Our team were tasked to provide a solution to this problem and to give guidance with the installation of our innovative cable track system, resulting in reduced maintenance costs and extended cable lifespan. Safety is of upmost priority and our cable track system has reinforced the safety measures in place for their cranes.

Customer Feedback: On Site Crane Engineer

Installation:

“Install of the new cable track system went extremely well from start to finish, with the moving trolley assembly running in a guide rail all provided as part of the kit it made for a seamless install. The entire kit is extremely well made and finished to very high standards, the guide rail arrived pre-fabricated and in powder coated manageable lengths. The cable containment assembly arrived in 1 m pre-assembled sections with all required link bars separate which saved us massive amounts of time. Once the final resting place for the track was determined in relation to the cross travel carriage we simply set it square against the running rails and level across its entirety and welded the pre-fabricated mounting pads in position. The guide rail was then welded up as one complete unit and the construction of the moving carriage began. With user friendly high quality plastic connections between each moving part which snapped into place, the moving assembly began taking shape in a matter of hours.”

Testimonial:

We decided to install the new cable track system to replace our existing traditional catenary system which was well past reliable service. Traditional catenary systems for cranes of this size and age tend to utilise large flat form cables which inherently hold some weight making maintenance awkward and unnecessarily difficult to conduct repairs due to the design. By installing this new system we were able to utilise super-flex cable which is far more user friendly and easily accessible than the traditional large flat form, Cables are much more accessible should there need to be any maintenance or fault finding and in a much more user friendly position. The design of the entire assembly is simple yet very effective, resulting in reduced maintenance and reduced potential downtime.
